Some Like it Thought - Issue 4
Interesting Reads from this Week!
Geopolitics 📉- https://apnews.com/d4c51884ba3ac6a4311b6f548434f958
This one slipped by me - US deploying assets to South America to assist with narco trafficking in/and out Venezuela. Maduro claims his innocence!
Tech 🔨- I’ve been in a bit of a fractional ownership reading phase. Fractional ownership involves a company buying a rare item (car, art), establishing a “company” for that rare collectible, and then holding a mini-ipo under Regulation A, where capital can be raised from accredited and non-accredited investors for shares of that item (https://crowdwise.org/regulations-and-law/what-are-direct-public-offerings-dpos/). There are other ways this can be done, but this appears to be the way most in line with the SEC, and being used by Rally Road and Otis. I found the place which has the most consolidated information at this point:

Basically, none of these have a long enough track record to be a sure investment. But it sure is interesting! There have been instances of major fraud though:

Interesting website which aims to be the rating agency of the private market.
